| On Monday, March 16, EVG
students and teachers celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday--in our pajamas!
We day began with our third annual continual chain of readers, and
throughout the day we listened to various speakers and readers who
visited many classrooms. Jaime, our Edgewater town librarian, read
special stories to grades 2 and 3. Police Officer Cristina Rae, an EVG
graduate herself, read to the kindergarten classes. Dr. Blumstein
treated the first graders to the classic story, The Little Engine
That Could. When author, Wendy Mass, arrived to speak to the
students in the upper grades, her first question concerned the pajamas
and bathrobes flooding the audience. (She couldn't help but notice!)
Thank you to sixth-grade teacher, Mrs. Castaldo, and the
Read-Across-America Committee, for all their hard work in planning this
day-long school wide activity. |
