Last
fall we all lost a dear friend, Rose Corcoran.
That is what inspired sixth grader, Brooke, to write this letter:
January 30, 2009
Dear Edgewater Food Pantry,
My name is Brooke. I am a
sixth grade student at EVG School. My birthday is January 31. Each
year my friend, Mrs. Rose Corcoran, remembered me on that day. Now
that she is no longer with us, I wanted to do something to remember
her. The Edgewater Food Pantry was something that she felt was very
important. Therefore, if everyone could bring in at least one
non-perishable food item by Friday, we will be able to make a
donation. Many people donate food at holiday time, but forget that
people are in need of food all year. If we work together we can help
our neighbors here in Edgewater.
All three sixth grade
classes contributed to this donation.
In Memory of Mrs. Rose Corcoran,
Brooke |
