Hispanic Heritage Month
2008

Each year at EVG we celebrate the culture and traditions of Hispanic Americans under the direction of our Spanish teacher, Mrs. Elkhechen. Students learn the different foods, words, history, music, and arts of the many Hispanic Americans who have contributed to our culture here. Some of the activities our students participate in include making (and eating) salsa, guacamole, and other foods.

We also have parents participating in this celebration. Mr. Espasande told us about Cuba's government and typical foods. Mrs. Valdez told stories of El Salvador, and Mrs. Rodezno spoke about the history, dance, sports, artists, architecture, traditions, and food of Spain. We thank them all for donating their time and knowledge to our students.
