1) DUE TO THE INCREASE IN SEVERE FOOD  ALLERGIES,  EVG IS STILL A PEANUT and NUT AWARE SCHOOL. PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE LETTERS SENT HOME WITH YOUR CHILD REGARDING THIS ISSUE. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BRINGING NUTS AND PEANUTS AS WELL AS THEIR PRODUCTS TO SCHOOL.

2) Immunization requirements have changed as of September 2008. Children born on or after January 1, 1997and/or  entering the 6th grade will need  one dose of Tdap and one dose of a meningococcal vaccine in order to attend school.  Children  entering Pre-K will need one dose of Influenza vaccine (given between Sept. 1st and Dec 31st) and one dose of Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.

3) In accordance with Edgewater Board of Education policy, all pupils in the third grade must have a current physical exam completed by a physician. School forms were mailed home to each third grade student. Physicals were due April 27, 2009. Please send if all forms ASAP.

4) All 6th  grade students entering Leonia Middle School will need a complete physical examination prior to starting in September.  Forms were mailed home in December. Physicals were due May 1, 2009. Please complete Part A the first 3 pages prior to going to your doctor.

5) Students are not allowed to have medications, of any kind, in school.  If it is necessary for your child to receive ANY kind of medication during school hours please contact me so that the proper forms can be completed.

6) Just a reminder!  If your child will be out of school please call the Nurse's office, before 8:30 AM to report their absence  Also, according to school policy, a student must be fever free for 24 hrs before returning to school.

7) Students will be screened for height, weight, BP, vision, and hearing. Students 10 years of age and older will be screened for scoliosis.  If for any reason you want your child to be exempt from these services, please notify the health office in writing.
