Don't forget, library books are due Thursday, March 18th.

Please return signed report card envelopes.  The report card can stay home.  Thank you.

We are still collecting the "Box Top" coupons.  Please send them in.  The class with the most box tops wins a pizza party.

Make sure to empty your child's folder every night.

The penny and nickel were reviewed and the dime was introduced today.     

In class we have gone over and practiced writing numbers 0-10, continue to practice at home.  Practice skip  counting to 100 by 2's, 5's & 10's.

HW:  Practice the dime poem.

In phonics we practiced tapping and blending letter sounds to make words.  We then wrote those words on our white boards.  

In reading we practiced writing sentences using the words; me, to, go, and do. We reviewed what quotation marks and a speech bubble were.

HW:   Read to your child at least 15 -20 minutes every night. 

Please review letter identification and the high-frequency words ("red" words); me, to, have, you, are, we, said, is, I, and, that, the, a, my, go and do daily.  We have covered the following letters; Aa, Dd, Cc, Ff, Ii, Mm, Nn,  Oo, Ss, Tt, Rr, Pp,  Ll, and  Uu . 

Social Studies -  We talked about different types of communities (suburb, city, and country) and how they are alike and different.

We are learning about animals that walk and the parts that help them walk.  Today we identified more animals that walk.   

Monday - Bring the "All About Me Poster" to share with the class.

Tuesday -The star student brings 2 or 3 items to share with the class in our Sharing Sack. 

Wednesday - The star student is that day's author.  He/she picks his/her favorite book to read or be read to the class during story time. 

Thursday - A letter or poem written by a family member will be read to the class telling us more about the star student.

Friday -The class will make a compliment book.
