Dear 1J Students, I am very proud of each and everyone of you. Have a fun and safe summer. Good luck in second grade, I know you will do well. I will be back at EVG in January and will come see how everyone is doing. Love, Ms. Jaggi |

Here are some math ideas and games you can do over the summer: 1.Play dollar exchange with REAL coins. All you need is a pair of dice and some coins. 2. Play addition top-it with regular playing cards. 3. Count coins you find in your car, your piggy bank, or around the house. 4. Tell time using an analog clock. 5. Practice your math facts with a deck of flashcards... you can get them at a dollar store or Target. |

Reading
|
If you want to become a better reader or at least stay on the same reading level you MUST keep reading. Here are some suggestions: 1. Read every night and write down your favorite part in a special reading journal. 2. Read to your mom, dad, brother, sister, or even your pet .Yogi , Nuggles, and K2 love a good story. 3. Tell someone about what you are reading. 4. Go to the Edgewater library and take out a few books each week. |

SUMMER WRITING IDEAS: 1. Take a regular notebook and turn it into a writers notebook and write about what you do each day and draw a picture. 2. Write a letter to a friend from 1J or to me, Ms. Jaggi. (I promise I will write back.) 3. Write a letter to a relative that lives far away. |
