Today we broke up into 3
leveled reading groups and did guided reading with our group. Then we
read about Dr. Suess and answered questions. We went into the computer lab and did a computer program of grammar activities such as fixing errors in sentences, putting commas in the correct places, identifying nouns and verbs etc. Read every night with your child for at least 20 minutes. Ask your child to re-tell the story with a beginning, middle, and end or about their favorite part of the story and why! You can even have them write in a journal! |

Spelling |
We will be trying something new for spelling this week. Students will be given different spelling words individualized for them. Everyone will be working on the long e sound. Check your child's folder for the list of words. |

Today we learned how to tell time in 5 minute intervals. We practiced labeling the minutes on a clock and then identifying the correct time on clocks on our own and with a partner.
*At home please continue to review
Time
(o'clock, quarter af ter, half past, quarter before) help your child read
an analog clock and write the time the digital way. *Keep practicing
adding
Dimes, Nickels and Pennies too!
Flash Card Facts addition facts can be practiced with addition flash cards you can make at home or purchase (I found some in Target for $1). Keep practicing until your child knows the sums in a snap! We should know our fast facts by heart. They are sums to 10, any one digit number + 0, any one digit number +1, and one digit doubles (1+1, 2+2, etc.). |
