Mock Election 2008
Brought to you once again by the fifth grade students and teachers.

The lines to vote were long here at EVG, but everyone was in high spirits, many getting their first chance ever to vote for the President of the United States--at least in a mock election! But thanks to our fifth grade teachers, Ms. Barry, Mrs. Barone, and Mrs. Cilvick, it all ran smoothly. Everyone's first stop was at the voter registration table where student names were checked against a database (class lists). Students signed their names and received a ballot.

Next step? Just like the grown-ups, you wait in line to cast your vote behind a curtain.

Uh, oh...those annoying exit polls! Voters were asked who they voted for but were told they didn't have to tell if they chose not to.

Finally, each young voter was proud to receive their "I voted today" stickers.

The final tally?  -   No need to wait a week for the courts to decide.
John McCain received 91 votes, and our winner, Barack Obama, earned a cool 335 votes!
